I was introduced to the business world when I was 10. My dad passed away and the family needed money, so I went to each local business every day after school asking them if they needed any help. Within a few months, I started working for a small business retailer. After being promoted from shipping clerk to head buyer and then sales trainer within 3 years, I realized I had an innate knowledge of business. As many others do, I worked full-time while attending Bentley College.
I graduated with a dual degree in Computer Information Systems and Accountancy. Directly from college, I went to work for a two-partner CPA firm until I was recruited by one of the “Big 8” accounting firms. In both firms, I worked with small to medium-sized business owners. I have been called the "found money guy" as I have a knack for finding missed, sustainable income and overlooked opportunities. - Stuart Briefer.
The one common thread all business owners shared was that they were looking for more. They felt frustrated that no one listened to their business needs and no one understood their fears. They felt alone and frustrated that working harder did not yield better results. They would lose sleep at night worrying about employee issues, leadership, and coming too close when doing payroll.
My experience then took me in several directions, serving as Chief Financial Officer for some companies and Chief Risk Officer for others. Working with startup companies to Fortune 100 companies, I perfected my leadership roles while serving in several capacities. I developed time-proven systems while working on preventing bankruptcy sales, developing exit strategies, and legacy planning to name a few. These systems relieve the stress from the business owner, help them remain accountable and on task while moving their businesses forward.
